The Nike Renew Run is an affordable new running shoe for the road. It takes the sleek design with bright colors of the Infinity Run but with a much more affordable price. Thus, its configuration is simpler without sacrificing comfort or quality. The sole is relatively thick with 31 mm under the heel and 22 mm under the forefoot which offers good shock absorption and good dynamism. A few testers note, however, that the shoe holds the foot a bit tightly. This can be explained by the fact that the sole rises on each side of the foot to better secure it, which may not appeal to all runners. For the rest, the upper is breathable and leaves enough room for the toes. It should however be noted that this model is really heavy with 366 grams for men and 268 grams for women, probably due to the use of less technically advanced materials than on the brand’s more high-end shoes. In summary, the Nike Renew Run is a good, comfortable and not too expensive running shoe that we would like to be lighter.

The Nike Air Zoom Winflo 7 is an affordable pronator shoe that offers good comfort. This new version features a sole with more foam for even more generous cushioning. Nike intends to make the Winflo better suited to long distances. It comfortably absorbs shock throughout the run, although many runners complain of a lack of responsiveness from the cushioning. In terms of stability, the shoe slightly guides the athlete’s foot but without being too restrictive. Thus, there is no dense unit to wedge the foot as is often the case with shoes for pronators. The level of correction is therefore light, which is no worse in the absence of scientific proof demonstrating the effectiveness of this type of shoe in preventing injuries. Apart from cushioning, the main changes are at the level of the upper: there is a new lighter and more breathable mesh for more comfort. In addition, the forefoot or “toe box” is wider for a pleasant support. It’s a nice improvement considering the Winflo 6 was a bit cramped. In summary, the Nike Zoom Winflo 7 is a very good, comfortable and not too expensive pronator shoe.
